1. Description of the exercise ⚽

Exercise focused on the 1×1 duel, combining offensive (dribbling and finishing) and defensive (orientation and timing) work. The main objective is that the defender learns to guide the opponent to non-dangerous areas, using the correct body posture and closing angles.

2. Organization and development 🏃‍♂️

  • Space: Diagonally delimited area with two small goals located on the defended side.

  • Arrangement: An attacker in front of a defender.

  • Sequence:

    1. The attacker initiates with the ball from a corner of the space.

    2. The defender starts diagonally from the opposite corner.

    3. The attacker attempts to score in either of the small goals.

    4. The goal is only valid if it is scored within the defined space.

    5. Attacker/defender is rotated after each action.

4. Tips / Main aspects 📌.

  • Defender: low stance, active feet and body orientation to guide the opponent to the less dangerous flank or goal.

  • Attacker: use of changes of pace and direction to overcome the defender.

  • Emphasize reading the moment of the steal and defensive timing.

  • High speed and intensity, but with technical control.

3. Variants 🔄

  • Limit the number of touches of the attacker to increase the demand.

  • Reduce or expand the space to modify the difficulty of the duel.

  • Forcing to finish in a specific goal (orientation work).

  • Introduce a starting zone so that the defender must retreat before the duel.
