DE ZERBI, POSSESSION OF 4 TEAMS TWO ZONES

📝 1. Description of exercise

Oriented possession drill focusing on ball mobility between sectors and reading changes of direction. We encourage play in superiority (6×2) to improve circulation, concepts of width and decision making in relation to when to keep and when to change the game.

🧩 2. Organization and development

• Four teams of four players are formed.

• The space is divided into 3 equal sectors.

• At each moment, 3 teams are in offensive phase, with 2 players in each sector (total 6 per sector), and the remaining team performs the defensive pressure divided in pairs: 2 players per sector.

• The objective in each sector is to complete a given sequence of passes (e.g. 5 in a row).

• Once this is achieved, they must make a change of direction to the adjacent sector, where the other two defenders come into play.

• If the offensive team loses the ball, it exchanges roles with the defending team.

• The game is continuous, promoting fluidity and quick reaction after loss or recovery.

🎯 4. Tips or main aspects

• 📏 Maintain amplitude and body orientation to facilitate the change of sector.

• 🗣 Constant communication between sectors to anticipate the pass.

• 🔄 Work after loss: immediate transition to defensive role.

• ⛔ Control defensive intensity to maintain the proper learning pace.

🔄 3. Variants

• ↔️ Change the direction of play (horizontal ↔ vertical).

• ⏱ Limit time of possession per sector to increase pressure.

• 🔵 Introduce interior wildcards to facilitate the connection between sectors.

• 🧠 Establish tactical rules: minimum two touches, mandatory inside passes, etc.
